Rehabilitation
Also known as: Rehab, Therapeutic Rehabilitation
A set of interventions designed to restore or optimize functioning and reduce disability in individuals with health conditions. Rehabilitation may address physical, cognitive, sensory, or communication abilities through exercises, therapies, assistive devices, and environmental modifications. For conditions like stroke, rehabilitation is often a long-term process requiring consistent practice over months or years. Digital technologies including serious games, virtual reality, and telehealth platforms are increasingly used to support rehabilitation by improving motivation, enabling remote therapy, and providing objective progress tracking.
