Visual Fidelity
Also known as: Graphical Fidelity, VF
The degree to which a virtual environment replicates the visual detail, realism, and complexity of real-world settings. In accessibility contexts, visual fidelity affects cognitive load and task performance differently across user populations. Research shows that individuals with autism often perform better with low visual fidelity in training applications, despite preferring high-fidelity graphics, because simpler visuals reduce visual scanning complexity.
