Text Spotting
Also known as: Scene Text Detection
A computer vision technique that detects and localizes text within images in real time, without actually performing OCR recognition. Text spotting algorithms identify where text appears in a camera frame, its boundaries, and orientation. In accessibility applications, text spotting enables autoshot features that automatically trigger a high-resolution snapshot when readable text is properly positioned in the camera view, reducing the trial-and-error process blind users would otherwise face when capturing documents for OCR processing.
