Key Remapping

Also known as: Key Rebinding, Control Remapping, Custom Key Bindings

The ability to reassign keyboard controls to different keys than the software defaults. Key remapping is essential for users with motor disabilities who may only be able to reach certain areas of the keyboard, use one hand, or have limited range of motion. For example, a one-handed typist might need all controls clustered on the left side of the keyboard. Accessible games and applications should provide key remapping options, ideally with preset configurations optimized for common access needs (such as one-handed use or avoiding control keys) in addition to fully customizable mappings.
