Braille Input

Also known as: Braille Keyboard Input, Braille Screen Input

A text entry method that allows users to type characters using Braille code on a device, rather than a standard QWERTY keyboard. On touchscreen devices, Braille input typically maps finger taps or gestures to the six dots of a Braille cell, enabling blind users who know Braille to enter text without needing to locate individual keys on a visual keyboard. Modern implementations include Apple's Braille Screen Input in VoiceOver and Android's TalkBack Braille keyboard, both of which allow users to type directly on the touchscreen using multi-touch gestures corresponding to Braille dot patterns.
