Tiresias
Also known as: Tiresias Screenfont, Tiresias Font Family
A family of typefaces developed in 1998 by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) specifically designed for legibility on screen displays, particularly television subtitling. Named after the blind prophet of Greek mythology, Tiresias became one of the most widely used accessibility fonts in UK broadcasting due to its clarity and reading ease across a range of vision levels. The font family includes variants for different contexts such as screen display, signage, and infographics, all designed with features that aid readability for people with low vision.
