Drake Music Project

Also known as: Drake Music, DMP

A UK charity founded in 1988 that facilitates music-making for physically disabled people through technology. The Drake Music Project runs workshops using adapted music technology — including MIDI controllers, switches, and customized software — to enable people with physical disabilities to compose, perform, and record music. The organization has been influential in demonstrating that technology can remove barriers to musical creativity, and its educational approach of progressively increasing creative freedom as users gain confidence has served as a model for accessible arts programmes. The DMP's work has contributed to research on accessible music interfaces and adaptive controller design.
