FilterKeys

Also known as: Filter Keys, Key Repeat Filter

An operating system accessibility feature that adjusts keyboard response to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes, helping users with motor disabilities who may accidentally press keys multiple times or hold keys down too long. FilterKeys encompasses several related functions: SlowKeys (requiring keys to be held down for a specified duration before being accepted), BounceKeys (ignoring rapid repeated presses of the same key), and key repeat rate adjustment (slowing or disabling the auto-repeat that occurs when a key is held down). These features address "doubling errors" (unintended key repeat) and "additional key errors" (accidental brief touches) identified in input device research.
