Perceptual Computing
Also known as: Perceptual Intelligence
A computing paradigm in which systems use sensors such as cameras, microphones, and motion detectors to perceive and interpret human behaviour, including gestures, facial expressions, speech, and body movement. In accessibility contexts, perceptual computing enables interfaces that can adapt to users based on observed needs rather than requiring explicit input, supporting people who may not be able to use traditional keyboards, mice, or touchscreens.
