Line Graph

Also known as: Line Chart, Line Plot

A type of data visualization that displays information as a series of data points connected by straight line segments, commonly used to show trends over time or relationships between variables. Line graphs are a fundamental tool in mathematics education and data analysis, but their predominantly visual format creates significant barriers for blind and visually impaired users. Accessible alternatives include tactile line graphs produced on swell paper or with raised grid overlays, sonified representations that map data values to audio pitch, and haptic displays that allow users to trace curves through force feedback devices.
