Mouse Pointer
Also known as: Cursor, Screen Pointer, Onscreen Pointer
The small graphical indicator on a computer screen that represents the position of a pointing device such as a mouse, trackpad, or stylus. The mouse pointer is used to identify and interact with interface elements in graphical user interfaces through pointing, clicking, and dragging. For low vision users, the standard mouse pointer presents significant accessibility challenges: its small size makes it difficult to see against complex backgrounds, its rapid movement can cause it to be lost when it moves outside the user's restricted field of view, and precise positioning on small targets requires fine visual-motor coordination. Accessibility features for mouse pointers include size enlargement, color and contrast adjustment, cursor locator animations, and pointer trails.
