Cursor Locator

Also known as: Pointer Locator, Cursor Finder, Find My Cursor

A software utility that helps users find the position of their mouse pointer on screen when it has been lost from view. Cursor locators typically activate through a keyboard shortcut or by detecting pointer behavior such as rapid shaking, and then draw attention to the pointer's location using visual effects like expanding circles, crosshairs, spotlights, or blinking animations. These utilities are particularly important for low vision users who frequently lose track of the pointer due to restricted field of view, and for users of large or multi-monitor displays where the pointer can be far from the user's current focus of attention. Modern operating systems including macOS and Windows include built-in cursor locator features.
