Implicit Scoping

Also known as: Prioritized Scoping

A voice navigation strategy that combines the efficiency of relaxed scoping with intelligent disambiguation. In implicit scoping, the system maintains awareness of the user's current focus area and prioritizes targets based on proximity and context. When a user issues a command, the system first attempts to match targets in the currently active area before expanding the search to other parts of the interface. This approach reduces the number of ambiguous situations without requiring users to explicitly navigate through hierarchical levels, offering a balance between efficiency and accuracy in voice-controlled interfaces.
