Eye Cursor

Also known as: Gaze Cursor

A visual indicator displayed on screen that shows where an eye tracking system has determined the user is currently looking. The eye cursor serves the same function as a mouse cursor but is controlled by eye gaze rather than hand movement. Because eye gaze is inherently less precise and more jittery than mouse control, eye cursors typically use smoothing algorithms (such as averaging multiple gazepoints) and are often larger than standard mouse cursors to remain visible despite positional noise. The eye cursor provides essential feedback for gaze-based interaction, helping users understand where the system thinks they are looking.
