Web Mobility
Also known as: Hypertext Mobility, Web Navigation Mobility
A conceptual framework that applies principles of physical mobility and wayfinding to web navigation, particularly for visually impaired users. Web mobility encompasses the ability to move through hypertext with purpose, ease, and accuracy, requiring knowledge of current location (context), available paths (links), and destinations (preview). The framework draws parallels to real-world travel: just as a physical traveller needs orientation cues and destination information, a web user — especially one using a screen reader — needs contextual awareness and link destination previews to navigate confidently and avoid disorientation.
