Touchpad Navigation
Also known as: Trackpad Navigation
A method of interacting with digital content by dragging fingers or pressing specific positions on a smooth-surface touchpad input device. In accessibility contexts, touchpad navigation enables direct manipulation of spatial interfaces — such as maps or diagrams — by mapping finger position to on-screen location and providing auditory or haptic feedback about the content at that position. This approach allows blind users to explore two-dimensional layouts in an intuitive, continuous manner that complements discrete keyboard navigation methods.
