SERPA

Also known as: Streamlined Evaluation and Reporting Process for Accessibility

A programmer-centric methodology for conducting and reporting website accessibility evaluations, proposed by Law, Jacko, and Edwards in 2005. SERPA restructures the traditional accessibility evaluation process around the needs and constraints of the developers who must implement fixes, rather than focusing solely on identifying accessibility barriers for end-users. The seven-step process includes discussing project goals with programmers, establishing agreed scope, preparing programmer-centric report templates, evaluating the website, reporting progress quantitatively, handing over concise actionable reports, and following up after changes are made.
