InftyReader

Also known as: Infty Reader

A specialised optical character recognition (OCR) system designed to recognise mathematical expressions in scanned documents, developed by the Infty Project (Suzuki et al.). Unlike general-purpose OCR, InftyReader can accurately parse complex mathematical notation (fractions, integrals, matrices, sub/superscripts) and output results in LaTeX, MathML, or HTML. It is used in accessible STEM publishing workflows to extract math from scanned textbooks for subsequent conversion to Nemeth Braille or accessible digital formats.
