RGBD Camera

Also known as: RGB-D Camera, Depth Camera, Stereo Camera

A camera that captures both a colour (RGB) image and a per-pixel depth (D) measurement of the scene, yielding a 3D representation of the environment. Depth can be produced by stereo vision, structured light, or time-of-flight sensing. In accessibility research RGBD cameras underpin many obstacle-detection and pedestrian-tracking systems for blind navigation, because depth data lets a system distinguish nearby hazards from background clutter far more reliably than a flat RGB image alone.
