Bookshare

An online library of accessible digital books for people with print disabilities, operated by the nonprofit Benetech. Bookshare hosts more than a million titles in formats suitable for screen readers, refreshable braille displays, and audio playback, and provides free access to qualified US students with print disabilities under US copyright exceptions. Much of the library is produced and proofread by volunteer crowds scanning and correcting printed text, making Bookshare a landmark example of crowdsourced assistive services. Similar services exist in other countries, often operated by national blind-reader associations.
