Newsela
An educational content platform that publishes news articles in multiple professionally-edited versions simplified to different U.S. school reading levels, enabling teachers to assign the same story at grade-appropriate difficulty. Because Newsela pairs original articles with human-authored simplifications, its corpus is widely used in natural language processing research as a training and evaluation dataset for Automatic Text Simplification systems, and in accessibility research as a source of ground-truth simplified stimuli for studies with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing readers, second-language learners, and other groups. The commercial Newsela service is based at newsela.com.
