Comprehensive Attention Test

Also known as: CAT

A computer-based, clinically validated battery for assessing multiple attention capacities in children and adolescents. It measures sub-components including visual and auditory selective attention, sustained attention, inhibition-sustained attention, and interference-selective attention. Unlike self-report behavioural scales, the CAT provides objective, performance-based measurement. It is used in ADHD research to assess changes in cognitive attention following interventions, though it may not always align with real-world behavioural improvements observed through parent report tools such as the CBCL or ADHD-RS.
