Blackboard Ally

Also known as: Ally

A commercial accessibility-checking and alternative-format-generation service from Anthology (Blackboard) that integrates with learning management systems such as Blackboard Learn, Canvas, Moodle, and Brightspace. Ally scans uploaded course materials, reports accessibility scores to instructors with guided remediation tips, and automatically generates alternative formats (tagged PDF, semantic HTML, EPUB, audio MP3, electronic braille, ReadSpeaker audio, BeeLine Reader) that students can request on demand. It is one of the most widely adopted institutional accessibility tools in higher education but operates as an asynchronous scanner rather than an authoring-time checker.
