Disability Divide
Also known as: Digital Disability Divide
The sociotechnical disparity between people with and without disabilities in terms of access to, use of, and benefits from digital technologies. While digitalization has transformed work, education, and daily life, many digital systems remain inaccessible or insufficiently adaptable to diverse human abilities. The disability divide contributes to digital exclusion and perpetuates inequality in the labor market, education, and social participation. Addressing the divide requires not just making existing technologies accessible but designing inclusive systems from the outset.
