Worker Assistance System
Also known as: Digital Worker Assistance, Cognitive Assistance System
Technology systems that support workers during the execution of work processes by providing interactive step-by-step instructions through text, images, videos, audio, and spatial hints. These systems are particularly valuable for workers with cognitive disabilities performing complex manual tasks such as assembly or order picking, as they reduce cognitive workload and provide real-time guidance. However, research indicates that worker assistance systems need to be more flexible to address the individual abilities and needs of people with disabilities, as current systems are often insufficiently adaptable.
