Workplace Accommodation

Also known as: Reasonable Accommodation, Job Accommodation

Modifications or adjustments to a job, work environment, or work processes that enable a person with a disability to perform their job duties and participate equally in the workplace. Accommodations can include physical modifications (accessible workstations, ergonomic equipment), technology solutions (screen readers, captioning, worker assistance systems), schedule adjustments (flexible hours, breaks), communication adaptations (sign language interpreters, plain language materials), and organizational changes (modified job duties, remote work options). Many countries legally require employers to provide reasonable accommodations.
