Trajectory Analysis
Also known as: Route Analysis, Path Analysis
The computational study of movement patterns over time and space, typically derived from GPS or other location data. Trajectory analysis involves modelling, comparing, and classifying sequences of spatial positions to identify patterns, anomalies, or behaviours. In assistive technology applications, trajectory analysis can be used to learn a person's routine travel patterns and detect deviations that may indicate they are lost or in difficulty, enabling timely alerts to caregivers or support teams without requiring constant active monitoring of the individual.
